In the Turkish branch of the European Film Market organized with the cooperation of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Bosphorus Culture and Arts Foundation, the feature fiction films, documentaries and short films that were produced between 2020 – 2021 or at work-in-progress level will be presented to the audience.
Also, the “Foreign Films Production Grant” which entered into effect with the new cinema law and which enables return of an amount up to 30% of the expenses made in Turkey by the foreign film producers, will be promoted for the international cinema professionals. With the grants planned, it is expected that the competitive power of Turkey -that possesses features of a natural tableland- will increase and Turkey will become one of the significant film shooting hubs.
Berlin Film Festival Will Be Held Online Between 1 – 5 March!
The European Film Market event organized in scope of Berlin Film Festival, which is considered as one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, will be held online this year between 1 – 5 March.
After the market events which will be held online between 1-5 March for the cinema professionals this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is planned that the 71th Berlin Film Festival will physically take place with the films being screened in the cinema halls at two different dates between 9 – 20 June.
The jury members of the main contest in which will 15 films will compete this year include Golden Bear-winner directors Mohammad Rasoulof, Nadav Lapid, Adina Pintilie, Ildiko Enyedi, Gianfranco Rosi and Jasmila Zbanic.

Director Ferit Karahan’s second feature film “Okul Tıraşı (Buzz Cut)” that is produced by Kanat Doğramacı was selected for the Panorama section of the 71th Berlin Film Festival.
