The International Bosphorus Film Festival Which Goes Global Through Both Sides of Istanbul Came to An End: Music Show In the Film Festival

The 3rd International Bosphorus Film Festival which is organized by International Bosphorus Cinema Association with the support of Istanbul Media Academy and which brings together cinema industry employees from all round the world in Istanbul, came to an end with the award ceremony held at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall on Friday, the November 27th. In the award ceremony presented by Ebru Akel, the famous actress and the festival’s jury member from Luxemburg, Sasha Ley, made a surprise and sang jazz on stage. In the ceremony that hosted significant names from both Turkish and world cinema such as Belçim Bilgin, the awards met with their winners.

The film screenings, panels and interviews carried out in the 3rd International Bosphorus Film Festival that is organized to contribute into development of the cinema industry and ensure sharing of experiences in this field at an international level, as well as the masterclass acting courses by Hollywood’s famous acting coach, Susan Batson, continued for a week. 

In the international festival -in which both feature films and short films competed together this year- the Best International Feature Film Award having a value of USD 50,000- won by director Visar Morina’s ‘Babai’. On the other hand, Ahmet Uluçay Grand Award having a value of USD 50,000- in the short film category was won by the film ‘Choban’ directed by Matisa Pisalic. 

In the night that was cheered up through the music recital by the Chamber Orchestra, the awards were designed specially by Atasay with inspiration from dolphins which are the symbols of the festival.

Best International Short Documentary: The Pe Teacher Gold And The River/ Director: Amanbek Azhymat

Best National Short Fiction Film: Sıradaki (Next) / Director: Gündüz Sevdi

Best International Short Fiction Film: The Preparation / Director: Giorgi Tsilosani

Ahmet Uluçay Grand Award: Choban / Director: Matija Pisacic

Best Cinematography: Lost River / Director: Benoit Debie

Best Actress: Nabat / Fatemeh Motamed Aria

Best Actor: Misafir (Guest) / Ersin Umut Güler
