A Huge Support From the International Bosphorus Film festival to the National Cinema!

Breaking news continue to arrive from the 5h International Bosphorus Film Festival that is organized by Istanbul Media Academy with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and will take place between 17-26 October 2017 . The Production Support Platform which started last year by the International Bosphorus Festival with the corporate business partnership of the Turkish Radio and Television Association (TRT) and attracted a great attention, was re-named as Bosphorus Film Lab this year and increasingly continues to provide support to people from the national cinema industry.

The Bosphorus Film Lab which aims to contribute to development of films in the Turkish cinema, to materially and morally support young producers and directors to produce new films, and to promote our cinema both domestically and in abroad, will contribute in the production processes of the feature fiction film projects. The date of application that started as of today will continue until 4 November and it will be possible to submit applications online through the festival’s website.

Teams of the projects to be selected under two categories named as Pitching and Work in Progress will join the workshops to be organized between 19-23 November with the collaboration of the world-famous film consultant, Hayet Benkara, and will develop their projects in terms of co-production, pitching and financial plan preparation. One project competing under the Pitching category in the Bosphorus Film Lab to which TRT is a corporate business partner, will win the Co-Production Award, while a project under the Work in Progress category will win the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award having a value of TL 25,000. Moreover, two projects -each from two separate categories- will receive from Digiflame a Post Production Service Award having a value of TL 50,000.

The 5th International Bosphorus Film Festival organized by the International Bosphorus Cinema Association and Media Academy will take place between 17-26 November this year in Istanbul, and the film screenings will be in Atlas, Beyoğlu and Kadıköy cinemas.
